IP cameras have many advantages:

  • After initial configuring, they don't require a PC to operate.
  • They can upload pictures, video or audio (depending on the model) to an FTP location
  • On motion detect, they can send pictures video or audio (depending on the model) to an email address.
  • They can be a accessed over the web, from any computer with an Internet connection - great for monitoring when away from home.
